Impeachment Town Hall - March 9th - Judson Memorial Church Sponsored by AskNadler2Impeach.org

I attended a Town Hall Meeting/Impeachment Forum which was held on Sunday March 9th from 4-6pm at historical Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South, Greenwich Village, NYC.

The impeachment forum, was organized by AskNadler2Impeach.org to address the question Is Impeachment Necessary to Protect the Constitution? It was an interesting, stimulating and insightful evening of discussion with an expert panel on the topic.

The emcee for the evening was Chuck Zlatkin who introduced the moderator David Kogelman.

It was moderated by Mr, David Kogelman - HAVA Committee Chair, - who started the night by playing audio statements by Representative Robert Wexler and retired CIA officer Ray McGovern. Listen to Wexler audio and McGovern audio.

The Speakers were:

Bruce Fein, Constitutional scholar, former associate deputy attorney general, and Chairman of the American Freedom Agenda;

Elizabeth Holtzman, a member of the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment of Richard Nixon, and co-author of The Impeachment of George W. Bush: A Practical Guide for Concerned Citizens;

Scott Horton, Contributor to Harper's Magazine, adjunct professor at Columbia Law School, and member of the board of the National Institute of Military Justice and the Council on Foreign Relations;

An Invited Speaker who failed to show up was:

Congressman Jerrold Nadler, Member of Congress and Chair of Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.

Special Guest:

John Nirenberg, a retired college professor from Vermont who walked 485 miles from Boston to Washington, DC to raise the question of impeachment to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

This forum presented an excellent opportunity to learn more about impeachment and brought together friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members who definitely benefited from hearing from the expert panel.

The Town Hall was sponsored by AskNadler2Impeach.org and was brought together through the cooperation of individual contributors and support from the Village Independent Democrats, the Chelsea Reform Democratic Club, Democracy for NYC, and Progressive Democrats of New York CD 8 and CD14.
