New York City Public Advocate Bill De Blasio Endorses Gillibrand for U.S. Senate

New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio formally endorsed Kirsten Gillibrand for U.S. Senate today, touting her tireless commitment to delivering relief to struggling New Yorkers, creating new jobs and rebuilding our economy, and giving New York City children every opportunity to achieve their full potential.

“Kirsten is a strong voice and a true champion for New York families,” Public Advocate de Blasio said. “Kirsten understands the real struggles that so many New Yorkers are going through, and she will always stand up and fight for us – not the big corporate special interests. She’s fighting for our small businesses to help them grow and put more New Yorkers back to work. She’s fighting to keep our hospitals open and operating for New Yorkers hit hardest by this bad economy. And she’s fighting the obesity epidemic that is keeping so many of our children from reaching their full potential. While powerful special interests have their high-priced lobbyists in Washington, we’ve got Kirsten – a leader that New York families can count on. And that’s why I’m proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate.”

“I am honored to have Public Advocate de Blasio’s support,” Senator Gillibrand said. “I look forward to continuing to work with him and other New York City leaders to move New York in the right direction. I pledge to always be a voice for every New York family in the U.S. Senate.”

From elected officials to community leaders, to teachers, doctors, nurses, environmental leaders, pro-choice advocates and civil rights leaders, thousands of New Yorkers are supporting Kirsten’s campaign. Click here for the latest information about who has endorsed Kirsten’s campaign.
