Reyna De Los Santos, 43, had not been seen since storming out of her Woodhaven home in June after arguing with her husband, police said.

On March 4, several kids found a suitcase in Forest Park, and hoping there was money inside, popped it open. Inside, police said, were human remains -- a skull, a spine and other bones.

Using dental records, the medical examiner's office confirmed that the remains were those of De Los Santos, though an official cause of death has yet to be .determined.

On Wednesday night, police of the 102nd Precinct took her husband, Edwin Fuentes, in for questioning. He was still being questioned late Thursday, police sources said, and had not admitted any wrongdoing.

Police also obtained a search warrant for the family's home on 88th Road. Police and cadaver dogs from the Suffolk County Police Department -- the NYPD dogs were not available -- searched the home for clues. Police did remove some items from the home, though it wasn't immediately clear what was taken. The sources said Fuentes had .repainted much of the interior.

The couple's two children, a daughter, Tahis, 9, and an autistic son, Ariel, 17, were placed in the custody of an aunt nearby while police .interviewed the father. Relatives at the aunt's home refused to comment Thursday.

The couple's marriage was on the rocks when De Los Santos disappeared, police sources said, and she had spoken of .separation or divorce.

Their neighbors said that De Los Santos worked as a home care attendant and that Fuentes was unemployed, often seen .walking the family dog.
