Comptroller Bill Thompson Statement on Community Board Funding

New York City Comptroller Bill Thompson today joined Borough Presidents Scott M. Stringer, Ruben Diaz, Jr., Marty Markowitz and Helen Marshall, and community board representatives at a news conference urging the City Council to fully restore community board funding for the coming fiscal year.

"These cuts would be devastating for both our City's Community Boards and the people of New York, who depend on Community Boards to make their voices heard" said Thompson. "Community Boards are the primary way most New Yorkers participate in and interact with our City government. As such, it is necessary that they be appropriately funded."
