A state judge yesterday cleared the way for the city's renovations of ball fields on Randall's Island.
A Manhattan State Supreme Court judge rejected a motion filed by an East Harlem community group to stop construction.
The city is looking to renovate 53 existing fields on the island and build 13 new ones.
The city struck a deal last year where 20 private schools agreed to pay millions of dollars for the renovations in exchange for the right to use the fields exclusively for several hours a day.
The judge had previously ruled the project had not been properly reviewed under city procedures.
Attorney Norman Siegel, who represents the group trying to block construction, said, "We disagree with the judge's decision and analysis, and are considering an appeal."
