I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that effective May 11, 2011, I will be resigning from the New York State Assembly to accept the position as the Queens County Clerk.
This is a bittersweet moment for me. I am looking forward to my new role as Queens County Clerk, but will miss all my colleagues, friends and constituents that have played a vital role in my 24-year tenure as the Assemblywoman.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve the residents of the 23rd District in the New York State Assembly.
I thank you for your continued friendship and support and look forward to continuing in my tradition of excellent service as I assume my new role as Queens County Clerk.
