Police arrested a Brooklyn man Tuesday afternoon in connection with the Sunday stabbing of a Queens woman.
Authorities say Elie Granger of Brooklyn was charged with attempted murder and assault.
Eduarda Oliva, a 37-year-old mother, was walking with her daughter near the Queensboro Bridge in Long Island City around 10 a.m. Sunday when she was allegedly stabbed by Granger.
Authorities say the suspect was on his bicycle when he attacked.
Granger was also charged with a similar crime 14 years ago, when he was charged with three counts of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing several people.
"It doesn't appear that [the suspect] knew his victim," said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
On Tuesday, Oliva remained hospitalized, but her condition was upgraded from critical to stable.
Oliva’s daughter was not harmed.
