Police Officer Peguy Sommervil was honored at last week’s meeting of the 106th Precinct Community Council with the Cop of the Month Award for his outstanding police work, according to Commanding Officer Capt. Joseph Courtesis, center.
Officer Sommervil, left, received the award for his diligence in the apprehension of a suspect who police said was responsible for three recent armed robberies in the community. Courtesis said the suspect, who had a loaded weapon when arrested, confessed after being shown a video tape of one of the robberies.
