Recount In Queens State Senate Race Could Take Weeks - NY1

Read original and watch video report...

It could be at least another week before the Board of Elections knows the results of a razor-thin State Senate race in Queens.

In the 11th District in Queens, election officials are counting ballots to determine whether or not State Senator Frank Padavan will lose his seat to Democratic challenger, City Councilman James Gennaro.

The board of elections says only about 400 votes separate the two candidates.

But a representative told NY1 Friday that the count will not be finished until the end of next week, at the earliest.
