NYS Senate Hearing Room - 250 Broadway, Between Park Place & Murray St - Across from City Hall, New York, NY
A democratic, functional and open legislative process in New York will lead to better results for the people of our State. For that reason, the Senate created the Temporary Committee on Rules and Administration Reform.
We are writing to invite you and the members of your organization to join us at a public hearing on Rules Reform in the New York State Senate. The Committee has been holding hearings all around the state on reforming the Senate Rules to make the legislative process, and legislative committees in particular, more transparent and responsive, and there will be a hearing in New York City on Thursday, February 26th at 6pm.
Your presence would be a strong show of support for our efforts to change the rules to restore functionality, and we encourage all of you to attend. Also, if you or any of your members would like to submit written testimony, it will be entered into the formal record of the hearing and posted on the committee's website. http://www.senate.state.ny.
The hearing is open to the public, but to ensure that we have appropriate space we would appreciate it if you could let us know in advance if you are able to attend and how many people would be coming with you. If you have any questions or to RSVP, please contact reform@senate.state.ny.us
